Fresh Cosmetics has finally launched in Australia at Sephora. It’s a brand I’ve been watching for a few years now and the moment it landed I knew I had to try some of the products I’ve been coveting for so long. Since I’ve gotten my hands on a few items I thought I’d give you guys some of my initial thoughts.
The perfect cleanser for all skin types smells like cucumbers.
For a while now I haven’t felt that excited about cleansers, but the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser has reignited my interest. It’s a gel cleanser with soy proteins to promote bouncy, healthy skin. There’s rose water for balancing and cucumber extracts to soothe. My skin feels radiant when I’ve used this. I feel like when people hear the word ‘gentle’, they can assume it won’t do much of anything. The phrase ‘for all skin types’ sounds a little too good to be true. But! This cleanser cleans without stripping and even on my most delicate days it hasn’t given me any irritation or redness which is saying something. I always use micellar water or makeup remover before washing my face because I like to be sure that there are no traces left on my skin, so I’m not sure if this would be enough on its own to remove every little trace of makeup, but it seems like it does a great job.
After spending weeks researching which eye cream I should get, I decided on Fresh’s Rose Hydrating Eye Gel Cream. I love roses, and my skin always craves extra moisture, so this cream sounded perfect. What strikes me immediately about the scent is that it smells real; there’s none of the over the top sweetness you get with synthetic scents. Everything about the brand seems authentic, and I love that. This particular eye cream strikes a balance between gel and cream, feels light and slippery going on and immediately smoothes, hydrates and even plumps the under eye area. I’ve only been using it for about a week, but I’m really happy with it.
The Rose Face Mask has real rose petals in it and again, it smells fresh (duh!) and pleasantly like rose jam. It’s got a gel-like texture and feels quite cool and soothing on the skin. I got this in a sample pot size, but I know I’ll be repurchasing, and here’s why. Face masks need to do a few things to impress me; they need to smell and feel pleasant (unless they’re phenomenally effective, then I’ll put up with a scent I don’t care for), rest on my skin without causing pain, redness and irritation, and they need to come off without leaving a strange break-out inducing residue. This product ticks the boxes and leaves me feeling soft, smooth and soothed. I’ll need this a lot in winter months, when my skin gets extra dry.
Finally, the last product I decided to try is the Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask. It looks like an organic marmalade jam I’m fond of, and smells a little bit like it too! Fruity, citrus scented, though not in a cloying sickly way. It’s made to bring out a natural glow, using a combination of oranges, lemons and clementines that makes up 50% of the ingredients! The AHA fruit acid has a very gentle peeling effect, which leaves you dewy and radiant. I love it, and I never want to be without it.
So, all in all, a very positive first impression! I’m keen to try out more, and I’d love to hear any thoughts, or questions that readers might have. Follow me on instagram for regular updates on what I’m using.
